Every year AAUW honors young women who have excelled in mathematics, science and technology. On April 18th, 2012 young women from six local high schools will be honored at a reception sponsored by the Lake Washington Branch of the American Association of University Women as a part of the AAUW Scholar Recognition Program. The goal of the Scholar Recognition Program is to encourage young women to pursue careers involving mathematics, science, or technology. Each young woman is selected by her school for her outstanding performance in math, science, or technology. Each will be given a Certificate of Excellence. A keynote speaker will be featured.
AAUW members as well as friends, family members and mentors of the honorees, and the general public are encouraged to attend.
